“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” ~ Albert Einstein
In simple terms, we ride our bicycles, and also run.
In this section, you can view information about:
- Club rides – when, where, how far and so much more;
- Club events – club champs, tours, hospitality at events, charity rides and more;
- Race Team – a page dedicated to the “race snakes” of the club;
- and we cater for Cyclists with a RUNNING problem.
Currently, we have two official days for club rides – a Saturday and Sunday, as well as any public holiday.
There are groups of members that live/train together during the week, or simply by themselves – all depending on their own goals, or assistance from more experienced members.
The club currently has members riding in a number of age-specific race groups (licensed) as well as the open seeded start groups.
Members of the cycling club have started a running club, and will soon enjoy the benefits of belong to one club over two different disciplines, and regional/provincial bodies, i.e. we hope to be an official running club, through which to obtain a licence.
The runners are known as “Germiston Coots”, or simply “The Coots”.
